"I hated shopping for souvenirs on vacation- the blistering heat and hassling street vendors, makes it so unenjoyable... Trudging from store to store in a crowded straw market, drenched in sweat, with people shouting at you is exhausting. And even when you go there it's filled with these cheap souvenirs and t- shirts that are mass- produced.
It wasn't until I gave up and walked back to the cruise port when I came across the cutest store I have ever seen. 💖Everything came in really cute colors and was super affordable. They had canvas totes in aqua and pink with a map of Nassau on them, and the cutest tumblers with Bahamas icons as well… They also had adorable plush piglets that reminded my daughter Katie and I of our swimming with the pigs experience!
Whenever I travel, I always try to support local businesses. So, I was so excited to find out that it was a small business owned by a local Bahamian family! And the sales girls were sooo helpful and nice. This is by far the best store I’ve ever been to on vacation! "

"As someone who's been on 5 cruises in the past 10 years, I’m always on the lookout for unique finds to bring back from my travels. On my last trip, another cruiser invited me to join their travel Facebook group- and someone mentioned the store, Haus of Assembly in the Nassau Cruise Port.
And I have to say that this is the best shopping experience I have ever had during my travels. The store was nice, customer service was top tier 💯, and this is the only store that I’ve been to only any of my cruises where the products were unique and didn’t feel mass- produced. What made me want to support even more is that whenever I travel, I always try to support local businesses. So, I was so excited to find out that it was a small business owned by a local Bahamian woman! I was able to get my sister this really cute canvas tote with a map of Downtown Nassau on it. I also got my mom this emerald green pocket book with local banana trees illustrated onto it.
10/ 10 experience. A necessary detour for anyone visiting Nassau. Definitely plan on stopping in again on my next trip 🤎"
